Having spent a typcial childhood marvelling and shivering in equal measure at guides to haunted places, and teenage years in rock bands wishing the girls from "The Craft" lived in my town, I began to study the paranormal in a serious fashion around the turn of the millennium. I joined a local group, but found my views on paranormal investigation clashed with theirs and I decided to look elsewhere. It was some time later that I had the fortune of meeting Terri through a mutual acquaintence, and along with Sean and my partner Mel we decided to found the SPSG.
As detailed on the "About Us" page, we have always had strong views on precisely how the SPSG conducts itself. Like Terri, I have found my approach to investigation evolving over the years and I feel it is important that we include more esoteric elements to our study alongside more mainstream techniques. I admire writers like T.C. Lethbridge and Alan Gauld, who employ a rational appraisal of the facts whilst keeping an open mind to possibilities others may discard simply because they appear at first incredible or implausible.
I'm glad that the SPSG sets out to use a range of investigative formats. I believe the discerning use of scientific equipment will yield interesting results, and equally I am eager to explore how we as human beings interact with a location. We are currently organising an in-depth paranormal "census" of my hometown, Stone, and I'm excited at the various opportunities this will present the group.
